A concert dedicated to late Jan Kulczyk

The Jewish Culture Festival for many years has been collaborating with the Kulczyk Foundation. Together, we organize concerts which promote multiculturalism and mutual respect – continuing the  work started many years ago by dr. Jan Kulczyk – a businessman and philanthropist. These concerts are dedicated to his memory.

This year’s concert under the auspices of the Kulczyk Foundation is exceptional – this will be the presentation of the female cantors singing, the first  such concert in Poland. Although, on the one hand, Kol Isha, which forbids women to sing, is present in the orthodox Judaism, but on the other – reformatory trends give the voice to women – both on the stage and also in the social life.

more information about the concert

Similarly as the Kulczyk Foundation helps women worldwide, also our Festival gives the voice to women and presents the contemporary world from the point of view of Jewish women.

Please, feel invited to the concert of female cantors, the first in Poland and also to the debates within the series, Sisterhood, prepared by Marta Majchrzak, morning meetings with Aga Kozak, lectures of Anda Rottenberg, DJ auditions and sets presented by the girls from OFF Radio Kraków and encounters with art prepared by women within the Kumzits project.

And if you cannot be physically with us – the  Concert of Female Cantors will be broadcast live on our platform: 30.jewishfestival.pl; you will also be able to listen to it live on the Radio Kraków – both in your radios and via the Internet.

The JCF is a woman!

A series of concerts dedicated to late dr. Jan Kulczyk was inaugurated in 2016 by Dominika Kulczyk and Tad Taube in the Tempel synagogue.
